The Tuby family have been in the fun fair business for nearly 170 years and have been involved with as many as nine fairs throughout their native North of England. This particular steam vehicle is advertising its role with the fair's Grand Scenic Railways and is registered WT 8606. The front carries the Burrell name and its identity as The Burrell Road Locomotive. The model is very detailed.
The manufacturers Charles Burrell and Sons of Thetford were well known for their steam engines and agricultural machinery, exporting all over the world. The company, which had its heyday towards the end of the 19th Century, finally closed in 1928, having made over 5000 steam vehicles from their Norfolk base.
